Q.: My cat is an indoor cat and has been for her four years of living. Recently she has been crying more than usual. I have been working a lot of hours and I thought that she just misses me. Now two months later she is still crying, even more so.
She follows me everywhere. She waits outside my bathroom door and lays on or near my feet when getting ready for work. When I wake up, (if is she hasn't woke me yet) she is the first thing I see and hear. She cries non-stop once I get up and right when I walk in the door from work. She lies spread out in the middle of the floor crying when I'm cleaning or watching TV. Is my cat going through some sort of "Cat Depression"?
A.: I think the period when you were away a lot has made her dependence on you a lot clearer to her.
Actually I think it would be a good idea to try to get her a "colleague" cat to keep her company and "take the pressure off you".
