Q.: After our cat died, we have been attacked by fleas for two weeks now. Won't the fleas die of themselves, now that there are no pets in the house? Or do we have to spray with something? A.: Yes, the fleas will die out eventually, but it may take a veeeeeery long time :((( What you are experiencing right now is that larvae in the surroundings are beginning to leave their pupae, and they do that in staggered manner, so they don't come all of them at the same time. Certainly, grown-up fleas cannot reproduce themselves on human blood, but they can easily survive themselves on it. You'll need a spray with the substance Methopren (available under various trade marks at pharmacies and pet stores). This remedy is applied to the surroundings wherever the cat has been. It makes larvae and eggs so to speak grow themselves to death, and the pest will die out considerably faster than if you "let nature take its course". |
