Sex Life and Life After That

Q.: Can a castration "go wrong" ? My tomcat was castrated a couple of months ago, but my friend says there's a smell of "unneutered cat piss" here.
What can be the reason for this?

A.: A castration cannot "go wrong" in the sense that "there is still something left". But often it takes a while before the hormones have left the cat's body completely, and a couple of months is not unusual.
It may occur, however, that the castration has to be followed up by a short hormone cure.
So if your friend still thinks it "smells unneutered" in a couple of weeks, I think you should have a word with your vet about this.
