Q.: I'm considering getting a couple of cats - how should I go about leaving them home alone in the beginning? I don't think you can let two 12 weeks old kittens like that alone from the first day. Which procedure would you recommend?
Maybe something like gradually being away from them for longer and longer periods? Luckily I do have that option.

A.: If it is possible for you to stay at home with them for the first couple of days, that will be fine.
Kittens are much more fully developed when you get them than for example puppies are, and they do not have the same tendencies towards separation anxiety as dogs do (unless they have left their mom too early).
