Health Issues

Q.: I have an outdoor cat, she is perky and a little goofy, with FIV, she is very fit and looks great, but she has scabs on her body. They are not open sores, they are scabbed over.
Would antibiotics help or a skin therapy. I don't think it is related to the FIV, she has sharp little nails and I'm wondering if she is just scratching herself. Please help.

A.: I think you should take this cat to the vet ASAP. Any kind of inexplicable scratches, wounds, or scabs in a cat with FIV should be seen by a vet.
