Q.: How can you tell if a male cat has been neutered? There's a stray cat that my building is feeding and we aren't sure. We are considering having him neutered but aren't sure if he already has been.

A.: It's not that easy to see for non-veterinarians. The visible difference is that although the neutered male seems to still have testicles, they are a lot smaller than "real ones".
More indirectly, if the male in question does not spray and does not act aggressively towards other males, it is probably neutered. But the only way to be a 100 % certain is to have a vet look at him.
