Other Behavior Issues

Q.: When I hold my kitten she nurses with her tongue on her front leg and purrs. She will meow for me to pick her up and immediately start nursing and purring like a baby. Is this from early weaning?

A.: Not necessarily. Nursing behavior - performed on both oneself and others - is a common way among cats to express confidence, a feeling of security, and/or affection, especially if combined with a purr.
I think she's just telling you she feels safe in your arms.
