Q.: My cat has recently started not using her litter box for pooping, she will always use it for urinating.
I have 2 cats, they have been together since they were kittens. There has been no stressful changes.
I tried using two separate litter boxes and I keep them extremely clean and have never changed cat litter.
She will always go to to the same area (outside the litter) to poop. Any ideas on how I can remedy this problem.
PS. She has always never covered after using the litter box.
A.: First of all, have you tried to place one of the boxes in the spot she is using for poop?
Otherwise, given her age, I think a check-up at the vet's to see if there's a medical problem behind this would be a good idea.
