Care

Q.: My cat is a Russian blue. He has a good appetite but I am in doubt if I am feeding him right. Please, advice me, what should I give him (what kinds of food), how often and how much of it ! Second question ! What is the expected weight and height of a grown up male and at what age does he stop growing ?

A.: The best food to give cats is dried food, because it can be left for quite long in the bowl without getting stale, and because it is cheaper than canned food (which often contains up to 80 % water).
Good brands are: Hill's Science Diet, Royal Canin, Iams, Eukanuba.
It is difficult to say exactly how much to feed a cat, because it is individual how efficiently they digest their food. You'll have to "feel your way": if your cat gains too much weight, then reduce the "daily dose" until you find the right one. The expected weight of a Russian Blue male is around 4 kg, and your cat will probably stop growing within a couple of months.
