Q.: It puzzles me a lot that my cat sheds so much ... even now, in the middle of the summer, when it is in its summer coat. Is it something I should worry about? And is there something that can be done about it? The cat is otherwise fit ...
A.: There are a number of possible reasons for this. Some cats just shed more than others; in other cases a change of diet may help.
But if the cat is otherwise fit, I don't think you need to worry.
Try to comb it thoroughly a couple of times a week, then you'll free the cat of the loose hairs still stuck in the coat, and you'll prevent some of the hairs from winding up in furniture and carpets.
And furthermore most cats love to be combed, whether necessary or not ...
