Bad Litterbox Habits

Q.: I have two cats a male and a female. Both just got fixed this week, before we got them fixed they would both pee in the house, the also are peeing in the little box as well, they are healthy, they don't pee just any where, they go behind entertainment centers , couches or tables. Now that they're fixed I am only having a problem with the male. He just this morning walked behind the entertainment center and squirted and took a pee this is after I saw him coming out of the litter box. Why is he doing this how can I stop it.

A.: Neutering is not fully effective right away, because there will still be hormones in the cat's body for some time that need to be broken down before "peace is restored". This may take up to a month, but you may also be lucky it only last a couple of weeks.
